Sarah’s Window

Sarah’s Window is an ongoing photographic project, which over started 10-years ago. The photos are taken mostly at sunrise, from the window of what would become my family’s and my home. The images are of the Parco Agricolo Sud in Milan. It is a static, but also highly dynamic project: Over the 10-year period the scenery changes, the colours and the light vary with the weather and across the seasons. The photographic composition mirrors a journey of increased awareness, and understanding of an images’ function. It starts with digital images until 2017, when I then revert back to a strict black and white analog image. Leading on to todays’ choice of a mixed medium, which in the end I consider more functional. Sarah’s Window is also a love story. I never found the right moment to publish the project in an organic manner. But in the current home-bound state, during this lockdown, this scenery has acquired an even greater presence and meaning.
